I have a few dozen things coming up FS soon, Bubs has finally succumbed to the pressures of adulting.6 points

Not really news I expected to see, but I guess they decided that the "Beatle Bass" was something they wanted to keep being able to sell. Hopefully they'll be able to maybe improve the neck joint, though many may just want the OG. I'd also love to see more of their other short scale offerings more available. Maybe also make... GASP... some long scale basses. https://guitar.com/news/industry-news/hofner-has-reportedly-been-saved-from-bankruptcy-by-thomann-and-gewa-music/4 points

For reasons I don't want to get into (let's just say that when I search for '1200', Office Depot, I expect to see results for '1200', not '2200'), I have a set of three color cartridges for a Canon ink jet printer. Canon Maxify 2200 cartridges, whatever model they fit, box of three - cyan, magenta, and yellow. I've opened the box, but I didn't open any of the cartridges. All brand new. DM me if interested (will go first come first served if there are multiples), and I'll happily split shipping. These are not the actual cartridges themselves. Also not the actual cartridges I was searching for.4 points

Graphic finishes were not being done by anyone else at the time, or at least not until Hamer did it. Some people want to buy the nostalgia, but when you get down to it the guitar underneath the paint is what matters. There is one graphic Special out there that was given away as a prize in a British magazine. The image of it has stuck in my head nearly 45 years, so it would be tempting to buy it should it ever come up for sale. However, it may have been made at a time when when the necks were thinner or more narrow at the nut. It would be awful to spend the big bucks on a guitar that has the wrong specs for what feels comfortable to me.4 points

Made at New Hartford, IIRC. No affiliation, I'm on a laptop computer right now, so I'm 'cut and paste' challenged at the moment, you can still find the listing easily on the DGS website.2 points

I received this a while back, put it on my board to see what material I could use it on. Turns out that it sounds really good with Singles and Hums and can be used in most Rock Genre songs. It can do Gillmore. But it can do much more by twisting some knobs. I stacked it with an old Barber Silver LTD(original) and it really got it's juices flowing! Great Pedal!! Highly Recommend!! I was using one of my handmade 64' DenHer Deluxes for test amp.2 points

NICE! I've been seeing pictures of all the basses that Geddy Lee has been rocking, including the throwback Rickenbacker 4001 style bass. Always amazed at how nuts people go over Rickenbacker basses, including myself.2 points

Steve is correct, that was Derek Sharp for the Moncton show, a lesser known but fantastic Canadian guitarist.2 points

I see these 1980s Specials with various patterns of stripes offered at much higher prices. I don't get the appeal - it's a normal Special with random stripes, not really associated with any famous musicians. It's not even a picture, just simple stripes. And top is solid color, not even a burst or interesting woodgrain, which indicates lower quality wood. I understand some could be very limited or even one off specimens, but paying 3-4 times what normal Special is worth makes no sense to me. What are your thoughts? Here's one for $6,500: https://reverb.com/item/97993345-hamer-special-1981-black-white?bk=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJqdGkiOiI4MGYzMDNiMC1kNzU0LTRkMTctOTdlYy0zYmFmOWZlNmU5ZmIiLCJpYXQiOjE3ODExODA0MDUsInVzZXJfaWQiOiI2NjE2ODAiLCJzZXNzaW9uX2lkIjoiYWZmNGFjNDEtMTE0ZC00YTdmLTg5YzAtNGU1ZmI0ZmYwMDZkIiwiY29va2llX2lkIjoiMjY0MjA5M2QtYjllMS00ZDlhLTg4ZGEtNTZjMGJkMjdjNmNmIiwicHJvZHVjdF9pZCI6Ijk3OTkzMzQ1Iiwic291cmNlIjoiTk9ORSJ9.hjVYTtCbQ_-0K90eOMpzKF5Lx9Cbybhp793V2bJfUqU1 point

Thatβs not true. I have Graphic Special, and it rips. I donβt care how pretty the wood is under the finish.1 point

Haha, I thought about doing the same thing as you just did! But, with crazy shipping prices lately I didn't know if it would be worth it. So you've inspired me to give it a try... I have 15 new, sealed in plastic ink jet cartridges for a Canon printer. Specifically bought for one of these; Pixma mg5420/mg6320/ip7220/mx922, but could possibly be used for others? Anyway, these are not Canon brand but bought off Amazon and always worked great for the years we had that printer. I have 3 each of c251xl yellow, cyan, magenta and black regular single wides. Plus, 3 of the double wide c250xl black. So, I'm sure it's a long shot but if anyone can use them let me know, pay the shipping (maybe around $10) and get a ton of printing. Otherwise, someone at Goodwill will get them.1 point

I don't need a bridge pickup right now, but came in to mention that I've had great results from Tone Hatch pickups. I put a pair of Duo-Sonics into my daughter's guitar and it was night-and-day difference from stock (for the better).1 point

There's another one at GC for $697 I saw while searching for the other. Probably not in the same shape?1 point

These look interesting but from what I can the prices are pretty steep. So many great builders come to mind before shelling out that amount on a new brand with just another take on some classics. I love what Nik Huber does, Krautsters II and III, Dolphins, I'd be very tempted to try a Novo Serus J, not sure what Mike Shishkov is up to for now but of course he is someone with great taste who will factor in lots of personal ideas and they are all below that price bracket.1 point

The coolest part? They all look like they're having so much fun onstage. She has really brought a spark to the boys. It's great to see.1 point

Agreed. If I wanted a guitar with mix/mashed Fender design points, I'll pick from 1,000 used Robins.1 point

I got word yesterday from JohnnyB's wife that he has peacefully passed away. John was a very good friend... He was passionate about music both playing and listening. He was an audiophile and had 2 incredible sound systems for listening. He was a master BBQ-ist. And he was a masterful conversationalist. Most importantly he was a fierce and loyal friend. The saddest part is his dementia robbed him of so many things over the past few years. I hope he is at peace and talking up storm in heaven. God bless you John, you will be missed.0 points

The 90 has a full centerblock and is otherwise the same dimensions. Also, damn. I think your other guitar covers the base well, so you probably want to just get that Hamer back to me.0 points
