Saul Goodman Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 I've never heard of these guys. Don't know them. Not affiliated in any way. Never seen the show before. Bounce up to about 15 minutes to see the guitar. 1 Quote
Disturber Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 "The Hamer headstock was bland and boring", well f*ck you too. And then they decide to put a their own headstock design on it, which looks like Woodstock, from Snoopy, taking a wank. 2 5 Quote

RobB Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 Very good price for a slab, korina special. I looked on MannMadeUSA and they indeed are not offering sustainblocks anymore. That Hipshot bridge is not doing it for me. 2 Quote

cmatthes Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 Lame. Those guys know dick about Hamers. Zero interest here. 4 3 Quote
burningyen Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 Obviously not a Hamer, but for $1200 it could be a decent value. 2 Quote
Steve Haynie Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 It would be nice to at least try the guitar before knocking it, but the Hamer connection is really not there for me... or any of us. 3 Quote
Hbom Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 Watching from 12:00 to 12:20 was pretty spot on, otherwise I think they missed the mark. 1 1 Quote

Travis Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 I like it. If it had a bigger neck than a “modem C” I’d probably grab it at that price. 2 Quote
Tortious Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 The knobs are very far apart. And one is missing. It seemed like they were consciously avoiding showing the headstock. Might be a decent guitar, but the presentation has me underwhelmed. 3 Quote

duncans Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 (edited) I really considered attending one of their workshops. Building from scratch and still may at some point. It's odd that their normal layout is like this Challenger but the Tribute isn't. I like the body shape of the Tribute better than this one. Edited August 8, 2025 by duncans 3 Quote

Dealbreaker. I would hate looking at the guitar each time I reached for the volume or tone knob. Headstock doesn’t bother me and I dig Korina. The bridge doesn’t bother me either. But I don’t get the supposed Hamer Tribute thing. Something just seems off. 2 Quote

Way too close together. They had the CNC layout for three knobs on the Special, so they removed the 3rd knob and left what was the middle knob where it was. I'm sorry but that's lazy. 2 2 Quote
Jakeboy Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Too close knob placement was the ONLY thing that kept my Korina Special Junior from being perfect. But it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, just annoying because it was unnecessary. 2 Quote

The second I saw this guitar's body shape, I immediately thought of Kammerer 'spud' guitars. Three knobs in a row definitely won't make it look enough like a Hamer. 1 1 1 Quote
