bry4321 Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Sold 82 Special (not pictured here). Buyer backed out before I could ship. Took that as a sign to keep it. Bought and sold Korina Jr. Bought BCR Jr. (which is not nearly as bright yellow as in the pic).
DaveL Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 I pretty much turned over my complete collection this year... but these two beasts were my favorites... Murphy Lab Light aged with OX4 Ed King pickups 2002 Dean USA Caddy... clean with like new frets... believe this is one where US Masters did the woodwork and Dean Tampa took it from there... I have the original pickups but I added super distortions. I know the aging is bananas but it's a great axe and the frets were perfect 2022 rock n roll relics some bass content. 2020 Fender Road Worn (MIM) 60th Anniversary Firemist Silver Jazz bass... has a nice mint green tint to it lastly... building this one, hopefully for me. an MJT/Musikraft Sonic Blue Esquire with a hot Vineham Broadcaster pickup

Tortious Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Just one, for a change: Had never paid much attention to the S2 line. Saw this on DGS and thought 'why are they calling it a Thinline, where's the f-hole'? After looking into it, thinline is because it's thin (brilliant). And they moved the switch down to where the knobs are, so it's rather SG-like in those respects. I never got on well with actual SG's, but this works well for me. I have a Rivera Stage IV on order, too. Just because. No clue when it may arrive.
BoogieMKIIA Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Looking at this thread, I see where the deforestation problem lies. Just a bit jealous. Some really nice ones.
Biz Prof Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Only two fretted instruments in 2023: The Boss 429 hot rod Tele (technically I finished and strung it up on December 30th of last year, but I didn't get it properly set up and in gigging shape until January.) And then there's this Fullerton F-style mandolin. Perfect for the Celtic jig Nigel plays after the narrative interlude on "Stonehenge".
scottcald Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Just two for me, 2008 PRS CE24 Alder and a 1998 Phantom: The Phantom came with Lace pickups, but I wanted to make it more 80s, so I put some DiMarzios in it I had laying around. Not sure of going with Creme or Black for the finished product. Will replace the switch tip and the knobs too.

I don't have many regrets, but one of mine is selling my TV Phantom.

Didn't remove that - yet. 2 hours ago, BruceM said: Dibs on the Phantom. I don't have many regrets, but one of mine is selling my TV Phantom. Noted. I mistyped before. I did have to buy the single coil because I didn't have any with that type of baseplate. I wrote DiMarzio and asked what they had that would be most like the originals in the 80s and they said the Vai Utopia Middle, with a 36th Anniversary humbucker, in case anyone wants to put that in their notes.
tbonesullivan Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Ahh... it arrived yesterday. Now to spend like a month playing with switches and such. Factory setup is actually pretty good.
gorch Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Nice RS. It will make you a good ride into 2024.
Hackubus Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 I picked this up off Reverb at the end of October, for what I thought was a decent price. 1993 model and super clean for its age. I’ve been holding out for a B&C doublecut Hamer for a long time, and still haven’t found The One. An old guitar player buddy expressed interest in this, so I sold it to him last week.
Jakeboy Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 @Hackubus, is that a 6g3 Fender Deluxe or a clone thereof…? Me likey…
