Sustain Block trem converted to what you see. Veneer over front and back. Thought about selling it but probably at a loss to what I paid. Plays good, looks decent, non original for sure. See the trem cavity outline in the last shot. eventually that area seems like it could fail.:huh::ph34r:

I find it to be quite "pedestrian". That's why I'd leave it. I know the cliche is used too frequently, but "It is what it is".

Send it to Zorrow!

Wanted to say the same as Gorch....Offer it to Zorrow...he will know what to do with it....

Work on all Wes Montgomery standards with a new appropriate guitar :)

Get a Floyd on it & spray it dayglo-sparkle-green!!! You know it makes sense :o/

Didn't they fill that trem route with a hunk of wood(it looks like the veneer is being pulled in)?

Anyway, that there is a perfect Vector "Junior", already reliced. I'd leave her as is and play the snot out of her! I'm thinking Albert King or Lonnie Mack.

Vic has clearly read my mind, though I'd go with boomers or trapezoid inlays, day glo clown puke or zulu paint and an pointier head stock... :P:lol:

Jazzing it up to the max & Floyding it are the ONLY things to do with this! :D

Looks like a perfect divining rod.

When you knock on it you can hear springs. So I do not think there is a wood block in there.

I would take $400 plus shipping costs for it. No case cause the foam in the nonoriginal case is degrading. I can ship it in that case and you can discard it or have it refoamed.

WTF!?!?!?! Isn't that a hardtail bridge? Looking at it closer, I notice the saddles are offset..the whole thing is odd. I figured it was a sustain block fixed bridge.

It deffo had a tremolo system originally due to the sinking of the covering piece (or veneer) on the last pic that has sunk in. I'd Floyd it back up & shred the flick out of it :D

It is a Sustain Block Trem with part of it hacked off as near as I can tell and as I posted, I can hear spring noise when I knock on it and hold it to my ear. It plays good, feels and sounds decent, it just is kind of a "what should I do with this" thing. You are right, I got it cause of the Junior look to it.

ok I got the vector here ..put to my ear as before done and pound on body and heard springs....took the strings off and did it again...no springs only the sound of very resonant wood..so got it on the bench completely tore down...there is not an empty cavity...the pup cavity has been routed and deepened and if there was trem cavity the pup cavity would be blown into it just like my blitz...i can not get the bridge out yet(rusted screws),but from all my eye balling and poking and proding this a solid piece of wood..even when I shine light into the string ferrules i see wood all the way to the bridge & vise versa....and best I can tell there is no top or cap on this ,if it is its super paper thin veneer I scraped finish from edge of control cavity and looks like layer of finish then solid wood

So wtf is going on with back????....well this new found info has made rethink my plans for this....so for now just going to string and rawk it...but still wtf???

anyone got a hamer case for this?

Could the trem spring cavity have been filled with a block of wood?

Any difference in level (or differential shrinking of the block) would have allowed the outline of the trem spring cavity perimeter to show up in a covering veneer.

I'll take it!

Wait. what?!?

Damn gearwhore - he's everywhere Hamers are sold...............

lol..yep like spiderman or visa.

the only spot with any sag is where the string ferules are....every thing else is flat...some day when there is some refinish funds..I will strip it down and find out for sure...but right now it solid so I am going to play it. awe fuck it I am cutting a small space of the corner of the sag and see whats up
