bruce919 Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I am thinking of doing a Run of sustain block bridges? Looking to see what kind of interest there is for this project. I have been putting together cost. Please let me know your thoughts .
Hbom Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I'd be in for 1 too. edit: I voted Nickel but Chrome would be fine.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Could you please post a remote estimate at what these will cost so we know what we're getting into?
hamerjunkie Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I have a project just screaming for a sustain block. It would look much better with a SB rather than a TOM.
RichRS6 Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I said yes, I have one in my stash which I'm saving for a rainy day but might want another ..........it's not legally binding ...... is it ?Mike might want a few for the Shishkastain blocks models.
Kurt L Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I would be interested as well. Would be cool to have if I ever had a guitar custom-built.
DBraz Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Count me in for a black one. If there is not enough demand for that I'll go for Gold please.
rugby1970 Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I'm in for one for sure in chrome. Two if the price is right. Thanks for taking the lead on this.
hamerhead Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Depends on who's making them.No problem for Matt - I used his blueprint for my batch. A huge help. They will be perfect, no doubt in my mind.
bubs_42 Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Agreed, Matt i'm in for 1 maybe 2 for sure. I'll have in my shop are 3 junk machines and 1 hack machinist. No his name isn't Tim.
cynic Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I'm good for at least two and as many as four depending on price. I voted chrome, but honestly wouldn't have a preference between chrome or nickel for the first two. If I bought more, it would be nice to have one of them be black.
Sugartune Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Does a Sustainblock interchange with a hardtail string through body strat/tele bridge?
bubs_42 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Does a Sustainblock interchange with a hardtail string through body strat/tele bridge?Spacing wise yes, but the Sustainblock is taller which is why Hamer had them made in the first place.
jim777 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 No to take this off track, but you can't vote "no" without saying which finish you want
Boomerang~Junkie Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 I'll likely be in for more than one - at least one nickel and one black, but I'd need to have a ballpark cost first. Daddy gotta buy shoes . . . . . a bunch of them.
Hamer Dave Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 I'd be in for at least two, chrome I'd suppose. Or nickel. Again, price would be important.
bruce919 Posted July 6, 2014 Author Posted July 6, 2014 I am still working on cost. I was a tool & die designer for 21 years , now do cost estimating for tooling & manufacturing processes . I have send out quotes to several plating suppliers & Machines shops. I am waiting to get several quotes back before I figure final cost & price.
BTMN Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Man, I just had a vision of a Sustainblocked Shishkov Ultimate in Korina with a Trans Honey Quilt top and dual Cream covered P90s or a Single Double Cream Enola.
