BTMN Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I could go for a couple Vector cases but maybe not 5. Who wants to go in on the lot?
ARM OF HAMER Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Yep saw that................maybe he would sell separately, anybody asked? Or maybe a lot of five or maybe a mixed lot of five............... sure these will all sell though probably not in a lot of 20. Again makes me wonder where he came across this cache of cases..............and where are the guitars that would go with them? Hmmmmmmmmmm??????
mrjamiam Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I'd go for a Vector case if anyone can pry that lot loose.
Shark Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I'm still after that Monaco bass case. ... Just in case ;-))
hamerhead Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Mine came today. What's wrong with this picture?
veatch Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Ruh roh. Are the import cases actually different? I know the rectangular cases are.
Feynman Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I had a Hamer USA case that didn't say "USA," and when I posted here there were some other examples and assurances that it was legit. You should be able to tell by the overall quality of the case I'd think, or not.
Hamer Dave Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Is there actually a difference in quality? Anyone know if it's the same manufacturer, or different?
veatch Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I had one that did not say USA on it that was identical to my other cases. Which is why I asked.
kizanski Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Mine came today. What's wrong with this picture?OO! OO!I know this one!No USA?
hamerhead Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 DINGDINGDINGDING!!!! Mike is the big weener!OK - to be honest I had no idea if it was an import or not until I looked it over close an found the TKL tab on the storage compartment (pretty easy to miss, right? D'oh!). I had assumed no 'USA' = import. And technically it IS an import because it's made by Canucks. So I'm only half stupid.Great case!
ARM OF HAMER Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Hmmmmmmmmmm I got mine and its one of the first things I noticed HAMER/USA on the case exterior. PIC.
cmatthes Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I had a Hamer USA that shipped with a case that lacked the "USA". Same exact case though.
rugby1970 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Just got my "square" case this morning. Good buy; new, affordable, TKL and fits my USA Special perfectly. Just one tiny ding on the exterior but overall a good buy for $50 and free shipping.
Jeff R Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 My Korina Vector came in a no-USA Hamer case and it was a NAMM guitar.
MCChris Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 My Korina Vector came in a no-USA Hamer case and it was a NAMM guitar.
dhuber Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I bought the Monaco case. I don't own a Monaco but I own a Studio, Artist, and MIII. The new case actually says "GC1-0 96705 Hamer Guitar Case Archtop". This new case does not have the "USA" on the outside but it has the same TKL tab as my other Hamer USA cases and it says "TKL made in Canada". My Hamer "USA" cases also say "TKL made in Canada" on the plastic tab. I've always been under the assumption that all the Hamer TKL cases were made in Canada. I previously owned 2 other Artists that had the TKL cases with the leather tab on the storage door instead of plastic, now those were quality. The outline of the case fits my Artist and Studio perfectly. I don't know if a Monaco has a different neck angle but I did notice the front of the back of the body does not feel quite tight against the back of the case. When I rest the lid down on either the Studio or the Artist the lid stays open about a 1/2" until I press it closed. This could be because the case is new and that the padding on the lid and back of the guitar has not compressed yet. The beveling on the outer lid over the guitar body is steeper and more pronounced than my other Hamer cases. Other than that the cases look identical. For paying $55 I'm not sending it back, in fact I wish I would have bought every Monaco case he had. Unfortunately I missed out on his generic Stage Line Indonesia Stratocaster cases I think they were $50. I can always use a Strat cases. These cases were a bargain. Thanks for posting on the board because I would have missed the sale.
stratacus Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 I bought the Monaco case. I don't own a Monaco but I own a Studio, Artist, and MIII. The new case actually says "GC1-0 96705 Hamer Guitar Case Archtop". According to this 2009 Hamer price list, the GC1-0 case was used for the Artist, Duotone, Studio and Special models.
black magic Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I have a 1998 Hamer Studio Custom that came in a Hamer case without the USA after the name. Same cases. I wish USA was on it, but the guitar is just too sweet.
nervous Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Well, the demand is pushing prices up a tad I guess. Got my rectangular case for $55.00 shipped. Still a solid value and many thanks to ARM OF HAMER for pointing me in this directionThese are on there now:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-Guitar-Case-/331347573537?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item4d25dabb21http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-Square-Case-/331347576888?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item4d25dac838http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-Bass-Case-/331347587576?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item4d25daf1f8And this odd one:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-B12a-bass-case-/251166775895?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item3a7ab4da57

zorrow Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I could go for a couple Vector cases but maybe not 5. Who wants to go in on the lot? I need one!
cmatthes Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I do as well, but it appears they've all sold.
zorrow Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I do as well, but it appears they've all sold.Yeah, I see. What a shame. I think the HFC would have been the natural place for all those to end.In my own... er... case, I would love to replace the huge Dean V-alike rectangular case of my 88 Vector by something lighter and smaller.
