BruceM Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Joe Perry was wheeled out of Madison Square Garden on a stretcher Saturday night after performing with Billy Joel. TMZ: Joe Perry in Bad Shape
BruceM Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 Damn, and he just released a new song and announced a tour.
cmatthes Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I read a recent update that he is in stable condition and the press release said that he “suffered from shortness of breath”. When you’re non-responsive and paramedics work on you for 40 minutes in the dressing room and intubate you, that’s a bit more serious than “shortness of breath”.

Paramedics don't intubate if you ARE breathing, that's for sure.
FrettyMcgee Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 The comment section on TMZ makes me want to nuke the planet and start over again. Or better yet, just leave it for the animals.
tbonesullivan Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Sounds like he should gone to see a Doctor quite a bit sooner. Even for younger people, if you let bronchitis fester long enough, that can happen.
BTMN Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 DANG!! https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/joe-perry-hospitalized-billy-joel-754609/
princeofdarkness56 Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 That’s twice in about a year he’s gone down on stage or right after. Hope he takes the time needed to recover. As someone who is not that much younger than him, you don’t walk things off in a few days anymore.

He wanted to check out a few hours after he got there. The doctor just looked at him and said "get a grip".
tbonesullivan Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 He's really been living on the edge lately. He needs to walk on down to his doctor more often and line up to get a checkup. I wonder if he was running a Fever.
MCChris Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I hope the tracheal tube didn't do any permanent damage to his Adam's Apple.
BTMN Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Once A Rocker, Always A Rocker, that's Joe. Read his book if you haven't.

alantig Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Doc told him to rest and play with the toys in the attic. Joe had other ideas - he told his wife to get ready for a pump.

tommy p Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 That has to be concerning for ol' Joe. When Aerosmith got clean and got their second wind, he looked like a gym rat. Of course, that's been 25+ years ago now but it seemed like he was still taking care of himself.

DaveL Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 I hope he takes it easy and gets some rest, he's a Massachusetts national treasure... I know he partied a lot, but seems like he did a great job managing that in his later years.
