tweed
Ok, I got a couple. Recently connected with an old friend (a drummer) who claims he toured with Coco Taylor just before her passing. Curtis Mayfield's sister is a long standing member in our church. His niece was choir director for a while and we played behind her when she did lead vocals. Sometimes her timing was off and threw us in a loop....go figure. Friend was going into a place in L.A. as Lemmy was coming out of another door several yards away. The friend yells, "It's Lemmy!" Lemmy yells back, "I know!" 😄 Edited December 11, 2023 by velorush

Also Marvin Rainwater, Trace Atkins , Whisperin' Bill Anderson and Hank Thompson(he couldn't keep time worth a damn). Yes we played the Casinos a lot! Also sold a guitar to Robbie Benson back in the 70s' !! I know most of you would have to google these people(or not), but they are/were famos people!! Even I had to google them to remember! I met Big Kenny out at Sturgis one year (Big & Rich, country act), talked about Harleys for awhile. Biz Prof
My band opened for Rick Derringer in '94 at a Raleigh area club. We got a few minutes to hang with Rick and his band, and he asked if he could strum my '93 Special. After a couple of minutes, he handed it back saying, "Great playing guitar" and asked if I wanted him to sign it. Before I could answer, he scrawled a huge "Rick Derringer '94" on the back with a black Sharpie. It's mostly rubbed off now. Dude really was nice, all things considered, and his playing was top-shelf. 5

hamerhead
In the late '80s one of my roommates was George LeGros, founding member of The Buckinghams, who had a #1 hit with 'Kind of a Drag'. For my surprise 40th birthday party, I got to jam with George's band that included none other than The Funky Drummer Clyde Stubblefield. I have his sticks here somewhere. My awesome wife arranged that. George's band opened for Peter Frampton at Milwaukee Summerfest. We were standing on the side of the stage when he was doing his soundcheck. They were doing 'Lines on my Face' (one of my favorites) and it sounded exactly like the 'Alive' album. George got his autograph. I was too starstruck to speak. BruceM came to my house once to buy an amp. An amazing human. That is really the highlight of my celebrity encounters.
kizanski
@Jeff R and I were about to step in an elevator in Shreveport, LA. The doors opened, and Brad Paisley was standing at the back of the elevator with some other gentleman. "Hi Brad," Jeff said as we stepped into the car, matter-of-factly, and turned around to face the closing doors.

BadgerDave
I've ridden in several multi-state car trips with HFC luminaries McChris, Kizanski and SirDan. Often arriving at the infamous4321 Club at Casa BruceM. I also once rescued Bubs from being stranded at the Mall of America. Beat that! 2
veatch
I once bussed B. B. King's table at a Holidome in Indianapolis. And I had really bad Mexican food with Kiz in Chicago. And had a Portillo's dog with Bubs, Travis, and BCR Greg. Man, life is good. 3

VECTOR
In the early 90s my band had gigged with two bands: Orgasm Death Gimmick (crossover) and First Arsch (punk). The singer/ bass player of the punk band and the guitar player and the drummer of the crossover band later united for a fun project with pyrotechnic like KISS and songs in german language- now well known as: Rammstein.
kizanski
My wife and I were riding in an elevator (I'm sensing a trend) in Boston and Artie Lange stepped in the car. I was by the buttons, so I said, "What floor, Artie?" Artie - briefly stunned: "Uh.. Twelve." My wife: "You know him?" Me: "No." 1

In the early 80s, I once saw Robin Zander naked in the showers at the Supreme Court Racquetball Club near Cherryvale Mall in Cherry Valley, IL. Around the same time, I saw Rick Nielsen, completely outfitted in RN drag, waiting for his boys to finish their tennis lessons at the Clock Tower Racquet Club near Rockford, IL. Of course he was watching MTV in the lobby. I never look down. Don’t want to be jealous.
Len
Met this guy one time. Had no idea what a huge celebrity he was. I just thought he was "Some Dude from New Jersey". Later, after realizing the magnitude of his popularity, I was kicking myself for not getting him to sign a body part with a Sharpie or something cool like that ... 1
