  1. My matched pair had Wrap tails.

  2. Notice the screw holes on the guard are different than a normal Hamer Jr.

  3. Some of you might find this interesting..... I thought it interesting that he says the amps (he was talking about older Champs in particular) sounded better with the tolex or tweed removed. FWIW, I have moved towards not using covering on my various shop built speaker cabinets.....I tend to make them from pine (lighter weight and more resonant) with hardwood edges for strength. As always, your tone preferences may be different.

  4. Nah. Not stripping the Tolex off my '64 Vibrolux. Joe could plug into a wash machine and sound good. It's really not fair.

  5. My other NAMM Limited Jr was #003 and did not say Made in the USA.

  6. I custom ordered that one from BCR a long time ago.

  7. For a while I've been thinking that if I ran across a nice Junior at a fair price, I'd jump on it. One showed up this morning on eBay. Good price, but the seller's feedback made me say "not today". So here it is. I hope one of you has bigger gonads than this old man. And that the seller is better than his feedback suggests. 1999 Hamer USA Special Junior P90 Electric Guitar Natural Finish + Hard Case | eBay Good luck

  10. SO fulla shit! Great, now dorks clad in their (OLP) JB bathrobes are going to devalue their vintage combos. Remember to crank your Variacs up to 180v!

  11. Good eye, Ernie. Something appears amiss here.

  13. To further the thought I asked OpenAI to guess what my reaction would be to this band based upon previous chats. It came back with this, and I think it pretty much nailed my opinion: "I love it for about 20 minutes. After that, it feels like homework."

  14. Missed it by *this* much. I think you meant to say: This band has: ✅ Real humans involved ✅ Actual instruments (not just a laptop having feelings) ✅ Music was, in fact, created ✅ At least some people genuinely like it If you like… I can type up a more detailed critique too.

  15. II will say this: at least they are apparently real people playing real instruments making real music that some people like. Beats AI.

  16. Back in 99 Hamer did a few “ matched sets” of Korina Junior and Special with consecutive serial numbers in a giant 2 place case. I think Ernie had a set years ago? Anyway, I assume the 004 would make this one of the 004 pair. I don’t remember the stop/tuneomatic bridge on them but maybe they were all like that? Someone must have a pic… Mark

  17. The funny thing is that there are a number of boutique builders who make killer Vs and Explorers and, as expensive as they are, you could buy two of them for what the above prices are.

  18. No one here, and you can take that to the bank.

  19. Yeah....Def do NOT mod a vintage amp! 😁 What is fun is to try out different variations of cabinets side by side to see how much of a difference THAT makes.

  20. This is where I am at now. Sure, if/when the Guitar Account gets built back up I could definitely see grabbing a Hamer or Gibson or other set neck, but as far as the bolt-on variety I am way more satisfied with rolling my own.

  21. I can't remember if they said Made in USA. I'll see if I can dig up an old pic of the headstocks.

  22. This is going to be a great precursor to my 70th birthday bash in October. There are 6 bands playing short sets at the 4-3-2-1 Club on Saturday night, and I'm playing in 5 of them! Uff da, as we say in Minnesota. Luckily, Sir Dan will be manning the grill for me to make sure the wieners don't burn, and the temperature is supposed to be above 70 tomorrow. It's shaping up to be an epic jam. And yes, you heard that right. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 24. I've got the Zen Lounge and Mission Room reserved at the Hook and Ladder, right here in the neighborhood. It's going to be a fundraiser event this year for local businesses that have been affected by the recent unrest. Oh, did I mention that I'm boiling up a batch of chicken gumbo using Jeff Richard's famous recipe? Yup. Music starts at 6:00pm with The Chunckles, followed in rapid fire succession by Play Prettys, Mike & the Homos, Dear Carcass, Famous Volcanoes and the 4321 All-Stars. If the xxx-agenarians aren't exhausted after all that, there will be a jam session as well. Do drop in.

  23. @zorrow introduced me to them the other day. I found it interesting although I wouldn‘t listen more often I think. I‘m rather waiting for Queen II 2026 remix to arrive by the 27th. Can‘t wait to hear the original guitar orchestration decyphert in some way.

  24. Something just doesn’t look right with this guitar…but maybe they did a special run (like described above) before they started making the “normal” wraptail Special Junior Korinas.

  25. Like the old saying goes, 'Askin' ain't sellin'. On a semi-related note, Fender just introduced their new 75th anniversary Tele collection, none of which list at anywhere near cheap when new: Limited Edition 75th Anniversary Telecaster Collection – Fender The only one I really like is the MIM '51 Road Worn Vintera Tele...but at US$1899 list, I think I'll wait a few years for a used one. Maybe. Nice to see that Fender can now offer it with a solid Ash body now, though that'll make it even more spendy: The more I see prices go up, the more I like my old mutt partscasters.

  27. I like them and actually think they're really talented...👍 Kinda reminds me of Buckets the drummer...

  28. I assume the “004” under the s/n indicates it was a special run? Perhaps that has something to do with the non- wrap bridge?

  35. Weird to look at this picture and realize just how quickly my hair went from brown to silver. This was summer 2018, and by winter 2020, I was almost all gray.

  37. Let's take a minute to consider how this video is taking over the internet. 1,200,000 views in 12 days. And 10,000 comments. Seems a lot of people are sharing this video with their friends. The comments are gold, by the way. "It's abundantly clear that these guys are on the frontlines of whatever this is." "This is the Future we were Primused" "Finally, music 2 has dropped" "when even the riff has a french accent" "Best sounding salt and pepper shakers on the current market"

  38. Kind of sounds like Primus when they were in the fifth grade...

  39. ...chest pain, discomfort, or pressure caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscle... Reminds me of when I was a kid and was playing King Crimson's "Discipline" on a loop. On one occasion, when the title track was playing, my mother called to me from the other room. "Michael...what is that?" "It's King Crimson" "Well it's making me nervous!"

  40. lol - It starts rocking at the 3 minute mark. This is the kind of music they play in Hell when you're trying to get to sleep.
