speaking of crazy, pulled this out of the case this morning and decided I'm not selling it anymore. I waited too long to find an artist this nice, and I'm gonna keep it for now.7 points

Needs chainsawing. That and every one with HAMER USA labeling that didn't roll out of Northern Prairie Music, Palatine, Arlington Heights or New Hartford.6 points

I play with Artimus and his band periodically. We are under the same management and booking. My Allman Bros tribute band, Soulshine, does package shows with them and it’s always a blast. Uncle Artimus is the real deal and one of my favorite humans, and Barry Lee is also the real deal and such a sweetheart. I’ve learned a lot about a lot of things from them and particularly their sound guy Russ T Nutz. The shows always sound *Really Good* and it’s a total Love Fest. I look forward to the next one. If anyone has any questions about the production aspect or anything behind the scenes I’m happy to help if I can.5 points

I feel fortunate. Nothing new to share though. Feel free to reply with some of your own favorites, even if you have already shared them. And Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate.3 points

Some of you asked about what’s that white V with one pickup and a semi-hollow body, so this is for you gearheads: A friend of mine, who isn’t exactly a luthier but is skilled with his hands and has built several guitars, built this guitar for me, based on a 67 V. It’s built from leftovers and low-grade wood, so nothing fancy here. It’s all cheap mahogany, both sides of the body are rather thick planks, not even one piece per side, so it’s a semi-hollow that actually isn’t, as there’s no special acoustic considerations whatsoever. And the F-holes are just for the looks, of course. Ah, and being the body so light, it tends to neck-dive. The fretboard is made of the cheapest wood he had in his workshop. It’s maple, but intended for furniture, not guitars. The best part is the finish. The thick coat of ivory white paint he used is very resistant, and it has aged beautifully. Now, the hardware is something else. I installed it, myself. It has Gotoh locking tuners, a TonePros TOM bridge with roller saddles and a steel trussrod cover with “Custom” engraved on it, which I bought on eBay. The pickup deserves to be mentioned separately. It’s a Nova Omnia G6 H, German-made. After experimenting with different combinations, I ended up wiring the coils in parallel. Perfect tone, not so hot, rich and focused. For more information about these pickups, click here: https://www.nova-pickups.com/products/omnia?variant=48045200179537 Luckily, this aberrant guitar resulted in being a very comfortable instrument which feels great in my hands and that also sounds amazing. It has become my favorite guitar to play. As a final touch, I found a sticker of an ugly duck in a public bathroom, took it with me and placed it on the back of the headstock of this guitar. So, that’s it. Hope you enjoyed the story and the guitar p0rn. 👊😎1 point

^^^This. Also true in journalism when some chain purchases small town paper(s) or smaller chain(s). The readership/consumers and longtime employees of a recently absorbed newspaper seem to be treated with indifference and/or condescension by the new owners. Been there done that Instead of asking the old guard "What can we do to keep the subscriber base growing or at least steady?", new owner says "Here's how we're gonna do it." Oftentimes it's a fatal mistake.1 point

Reverb before Etsy...pretty damn good Reverb after Etsy...pretty damn bad. Mergers, consolidations, and acquisitions are never ventured with benefits to the end user in mind.1 point

>I'm still trying to figure out where the circuit board was made. The green (with solder-mask) and tan (no solder-mask) boards both look to be made by EMG. They are known for being helpful so I would give them a call to find out more.1 point

Looks like the neck on the left one is sitting too deep into the body, not just compared to the right one, but compared to any other Vector, including the one I have. Can someone share the pic of the bound one with pointy headstock?1 point

There’s a clip somewhere where skynyrd was opening for the stones and were told not to walk out on the tongue…(part of the stage) and of course they did. I’m sure mick and keef wanted no part if these Florida men. lol.1 point

I have sworn off Lovepedal, but I did have to fight myself not to buy the Large Box JMP11. The JMP really does that 70’s Marshall thing.1 point

That's exactly what I intend to do. It gives me one more plate to spin to add to the overall outsound. I used to have an acoustic on a stand. This is going to be fun!!!!1 point

Playing regularly has changed my mind, I’m thinking more as a player, and less as a collector or a hoarder. That’s why, while talking to Gene @BTMN today, I felt acute symptoms of GSS —Gear Selling Syndrome, which is the opposite of GAS— and that’s why I’m here. So, there are two guitars I own, which are quite unique, but which I don’t play AT ALL. And it feels almost like a disrespect to this community keeping them in their respective cases, because I even have no plan to play them in the foreseeable future. 😬 These are the ones: So, do I let them go? 😰 IMPORTANT: They are NOT for sale, so, if you push me to list them in the FS section with their respective price tags, I might blame you later for making me doing things I really didn’t want to do, okay? 😜 Thank you! 🙏🙇♂️1 point

I grew up in the Bay area but was really never a country rock fan, but since my mom's passing, I am totally convinced that the song "Simple man" was a song written as a direct message from her to me. ❤️1 point

Sell them. Edit to expand thought: You don’t play them and you have no plans to play them. Seems obvious to me unless you just want them as art or some sort of potential investment. For me, 100%, sell them. I realize that my opinion here will surprise no one.1 point

I've been trying to talk to a human at Reverb for nearly a week. It's "Trem" the AI idiot or nothing. Trem likes to take you down avenues that have nothing to do with the issue at hand. And then wanted to close my account. It's a simple issue. I paid for a pedal, never got it. So I want my money back. Trem insists that I return it. I ask for a brain. He continues to act like I have the pedal. I ask for a brain. I didn't get the pedal. Tracking shows the closest that pedal got to me was Seattle. I live in Florida. I call, another voice tells me to use brainless and hangs up. So far I'm out $236.00 and have not spoken to a human. Reverb... your customer support sux ass!!!0 points
