Jimbilly Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I've accumulated a near adequate number over the years, mostly from pawn shops, - just remembered 2 more I own that are out on loan... which makes 18.
Steve Haynie Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 1 mxr 2 ehx I rarely use them except when playing through my Fender Pro Junior amp. I want some type of bumblebee in a coffee can fuzz pedal, but I am in no hurry to get them.
mathman Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I have too many but I don’t know how many I have. Do digital ones count? I feel dirty. at least I do when I am using them…
Travis Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Including boosts and fuzzes as well… 1) Lovepedal eternity burst handwired 2) Lovepedal black mamba tchula 3) Lovepedal vanilla zendrive 4) Lovepedal BBB OC42 black glass 5) Chase Tone Fuzz Fella 6) Fulltone Fat Boost 3 7) Boss DS-1 (cuz ya gotta…)
DaveH Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 1) Big Muff PI ('83-ish) 1) Boss Blues Driver 1) MXR Zakk Wylde OD I couldn't tell you the last time I used one, however... I'm more of a cranked amp/George L type (although of the three,I think the MXR is the best)
stonge Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Found an eighties small box Rat and a Boss DF-2 feedbacker in a box in the basement along with a dead Toadworks Mr Ed. Have a half dozen Lovepedals thanks to the enablers up here, and pretty much every Wampler pedal made in the last decade or so (spoiler alert: 90% of everything he's ever made is a drive fuzz or amp in the box). Had to buy a pair of Ikea rolling cabinets to stash them in. Lately all I've been playing is either Amplitube or Tonex and breaking out a loaner Helix every couple of months.
gorch Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Do TBs count? I‘ve got 4 different on the shelf and a Rockman XPR.
JochenP Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Too much because I just play at my home 🙂 favorite: Marshall Bluesbreaker 1. generation (on the shelf ... Marshall DriveMaster an Guv´nor 1. generation and Rodenberg GAS827)
Dutchman Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I'm just going to say to many. I have 3 on my current board. I'm still buying them. It's Christmas everytime one shows up! The Nobel ODR is my last purchase. It stacks nicely with the Barbers!
Rich_S Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Well, let’s see… Xotic BB Preamp EHX Nano Ram’s Head Big Muff Boss SD-1 Boss DS-1 Fender Hammertone Fuzz DIY Pink Paisley Rat DIY Big Muff (NYC specs, I think) DIY Fuzzrite DIY Catalinbread SFT So, nine. Yesterday, it was ten, but I returned a Boss OD-3 to GC after it narrowly lost a shootout with the BB. Only the BB Preamp and Nano Ramshead are on my board. I didn’t count the clean boost, which is a DIY Alembic Stratoblaster in a box. It’s a fixture on my board and gets used almost as much as the BB.
tommy p Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 If an Xotic EP Booster counts I have one, and I don't use it.
Disturber Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 For the sound I want I have found that most dirt pedals have to much gain, or compresses the sound to much. I prefer power tube distortion over pre amp tube distortion too. But for getting some extra hair on things I like: The Solodallas Storm. It stays open even though it has a compress knob. Can be a bit bright, but when it melts together with the amps distortion it sounds fantastic. The treble booster I bought from @Jakeboy some years ago. It's got a dirtyness to the mids that can sound kinda ugly, but it really cuts through. My ODC V4. Open, transparent overdrive pedal. One of the best I have tried. The Fulltone Catalyst for fuzz or a hairy boost. Also transparent, and the tone does not get stuck in the speakers, like many fuzzes do. My 1986 Rat. It's just nasty in a good way. Drive knob almost on zero. Then I have: Early 1996 silver box Fulldrive. This one is pretty compressed and kinda dark. Sounds heavenly with singlecoils. But I don't use it that much. As I never play strats or teles with the band. A newly aquired Way Huge Green Rhino version V. This can be set on 100hz or 500hz. The 100hz sound like you average tube screamer. I never kinda liked that nasal, all bass frequencies dialed out, sound. But the 500hz sound promosing. It gives a cool midboost. I have yet to try this one with the band. It might work, for some stuff at least.
Dave Scepter Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 1 Boss MT-2 Metal Zone 2 Boss MT-2 Metal Zone "Spare" 3 Boss BD-2 Blues Driver 4 Boss ST-2 Power Stack 5 Boss SD-1 Overdrive 6 Boss DS-1 Distortion 7 Boss BC-2 Combo Drive 8 ProCo Rat 9 BBE Green Screamer 10 Celestial Super Boost 11 Mooer Hustle Drive 12 KHDK Ghoul Screamer Various Boost in EQ pedals Tear in a old Alnico speaker and the Record level knob on my tape deck 🤣
Biz Prof Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I have seven or eight. Most reside in a storage tote, but the Bogner LaGrange and Mosky Golden Horse are on my board. A trusty Boss SD-1 lives in my gigging tool box as a reliable backup pedal.
scottcald Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 LPD 87 deluxe, Friedman BE-OD and BE-OD deluxe, SD-1, Boss PowerStack. They can all get most of the sounds I'm looking for, which in reality is something like 3.
Jeff R Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Wampler Tumnus Deluxe, Xotic BB Preamp, Bogner LaGrange, Menatone Top Boost In a Can, Tech 21 Double Drive. Tumnus and BB are the only ones in front of the '66 Super Reverb at the present.
crunchee Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 I have two old Punkin' Orange DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz pedals, still with the original boxes, have had them for years. I don't use them much (I don't use any pedals much), unless I want to sound more obnoxious than usual.
BruceM Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Fulltone Fat Boost, Full Drive 2, OCD, Ultimate Octave Barber Direct Drive Henretta Choad Blaster, Pinkman Danelectro Daddy O, Fab Tone Morley Fuzz-Wah 80s model That's 10.

I've been using a J Rockett IQ for single coils. I should try them together
Brooks Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 I have one, but its my backup rig (and my bassist pal Kolton plays thru it when we jam upstairs). I plug straight into my BluGuitar Amp1, which has plenty of gain.

Jimbilly Posted April 18, 2023 Author Posted April 18, 2023 missing is a '60s Acetone fuzz, and a tech21 Double Drive. The green redundancy was not planned: one TS9 has a sticker saying Vaughn's Mods on it, the other three were just cheap, and the Maxon is not as common. The Tri OD doesn't like being powered via the pedalboard (?). I counted the ROD-10 because it's so easily footswitchable, - and you gotta love the sweepable mid. I thought for sure a lot of you would have larger numbers of these, I'm impressed with the discipline it takes to not just keep everything.
tomteriffic Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Been through too many to count, moved most of them along. A new one comes out and I'm just "Oh look, yet another dirt pedal". At present, 3 on the board and who knows how many on shelves or nooks and crannies I've forgotten about. Now wobble pedals, that's another thing entirely.
