  4. Sometimes you need to turn away from (over) the nice tops.....😉 Not that they make the tops any less desirable.....

  5. I should have brought them out earlier when lighting was better, maybe tomorrow evening, some lighting editing (courtesy of FastStone) will have to do

  6. Frank was a huge influence on my playing and my first real concert back in the late 70s. Glad to see him playing out again.

  7. So @LucSulla —. If I understand correctly, You’re going to marry the V when it’s done?

  9. I'm pretty sure it would be considered an 'Ultimate' top? wasn't that what they were calling the better ones in the last days?

  10. I'm running an IR-X and a TK Imperial on a board. I plan to get a Synergy with a BE/BB module (that Buxom Betty clean on the BE-50 Deluxe is the best part of that amp, and that's saying something) and probably a Fryette Pitbull to stick in a rack with the VHT 2502. The TK-Imp and IR-X are just killer for jams, fly-dates (all one or two of those a year I do, lol), or just any situation where you need a really portable set-up. Correct!

  11. A handful I kinda like.....Three are figured maple, the other is bookmatched and carved Brazilian. Longer story on how that came to be..... I have had some pretty nice Hamers as well. 🤩

  12. My one and only flame top and Hamer. Some years back I wanted a PRS Private Stock or Santana was a long term goal. Found this Studio Cutom (for much less) and haven’t looked back.

  13. Hopefully it was a Boogie coliseum head. 😁 I watched that video earlier today. I want that pedal if it ever comes out. There is a Mace at my house. It is fun to crank, but not to move. There are cars that weigh less.

  14. Curious to hear your thoughts about Diablo guitars…

  15. ...I went to the darkside. Bought a VHT Two-Fifty-Two power amp to run the Imperial/IR-X preamp setup through and even through a CE-2w in to throw into the CE-1 setting and do a just-barely-chorus for a stereo set-up. Selling off several heads and probably going to a Synergy Syn2 module set-up soon enough. I also have the Banker build finishing (hopefully) this fall and just bought an engagement ring, so that has hit the old bank account, but I'm hopeful I've accounted for everything well enough. I'm really enjoying these modular and/or pedal-format preamps. Just enough software to be able to do a few cool things while keeping a mostly analog work-flow is kind of the best of both worlds for us dinosaurs too stupid and hardheaded for something like a quad cortex.

  16. All things equal, I do love the use of a stereo tube power amp. (Still do have older Mesa versions, 2 x 50 and 2 x 90, but find few excuses for firing them all up these days). If/when you do get to wanting the really portable stereo pedalboard, there are good options. Yeah, not really tube power, but....With such great tube PREamps as you have, you might be well served with such as the Duncan Powerstage or, on a budget, the Carvin version ($159). My actual personal preference is the Thermion Zero. Longer story that.... FWIW, I had a pro guitarist over yesterday checking out gear, as he was not satisfied with his live sound. (For perspective, he is using a modeler). He tried out both the Duncan and the Carvin. He actually liked the overall sound better than the $600 Duncan and ordered one on the spot. (I'd have been happy to sell him my Duncan at a substantial discount but he did like the other better with his rig, not just for the savings. I suppose I need to get around to posting it for sale......) (I also sold him a pair of my shop built cabs, so we all ended up happy)😉 So many good options these days. And the Wampler Pedalhead that should be out soon looks to be better than any of them......Supposedly about the same price as the Duncan stereo version. Having the whole rig on a pedaboard, with a smallish stereo 2 x cab makes a whole lotta sense to my aging back. And, to my biased ears, sounds better than almost anything else others bring to the stage. Sounds like you are still having fun!

  17. If my tube heads went away I would be perfectly happy with my Friedman IR-J preamp. They aren't going away just yet though. 😄

  20. If I'm completely honest I bought this from a friend in a cover band who just constantly goes through guitars all the time trying new things. I'm not really planning on keeping it although I do like that it's lightweight. Floyd Roses just aren't my cuppa tea. I believe that serial makes it a 93. It has some small dings but everything requires looking at it up close to spot.

  22. I didn't know I could hold my breath that long. My wife loved it. I'm not kidding when I say this is my second family (sometimes first). Ask Kizanski. He had to field all my panic questions (thanks, Mike!). THANK YOU, Ted! Sending all the good vibes, juju, mojo, butter., etc etc etc that I can muster.

  25. I played thru a Mace for a few shows. It had EV speakers in it. FOH guy threatened to pour gas on it and burn it if he saw it on the backline again. Next show I was sporting a Boogie.

  26. Skynyrd's crew hated that Peavey gear. The tube amps blew up constantly, totally unroadworthy. The bass gear was solid, it's said.

  27. That seller is a fucking knob-shiner. Everything he’s selling is listed about £3,000 over value… …including the stuff that he’s listing for £3,000… Bell-end.

  28. Michael Fuller is a full-on douchebag. He got pissed when I sent two of his tape echo units back because of noise (in the signal and the unit itself). One of his lackeys told me that they were re-furbished units and there was no warranty. When I pointed out that I bought them new from Fulltone direct and not a dealer, he said they were purchased by other customers new in his records. I pony'd up the receipts and he transferred me to Fuller. He said I'd have to pay the shipping back and that he would "evaluate" them for warranty. So, I did. Never heard anything for almost a month. Then, he said the units weren't new to me and wouldn't warranty them. I said send them back and he told me I'd have to pay the shipping. I'll never buy anything from them again, no matter how good it is. I heard he got kicked out of a bunch of dealers because of, well, being an asshole. That being said, the unit Kiz is selling is the shit. No denying that.

  32. Caught Type-O several times; once opening for Danzig in Pittsburgh (if I recall correctly) and once headlining in Philly on Halloween night at the Troc. That show was among my top 5 most memorable concerts!!

  33. I saw Type- O in 1994 At a tiny venue called Berkeley Square on university Avenue in Berkeley CA.hey @Rob did you ever make it to the square?? At one point Peter Steele was razzing the guitar player for dilly dallying between songs, and I Quote: Hey Ritchie, hey Ritchie Blackmore, Over here, hey Ritchie ( f-ing hilarious!). They were great ( and played Seals and Croft’s Summer Breeze)! I saw an early version of the band ‘Crowbar’ at the same venue a few years later.
