specialk Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 RIP, David. You were so far ahead of your time that some people still haven't caught up.
motorpriest Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Oh, boy...let the sad times roll...RIP Major Tom. A true legend.
LucSulla Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 It's been a rough couple of weeks to be a rock legend. Sad news.
FrettyMcgee Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 What the fuck, and holy shit. Blindsided.
sirDaniel Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Wow. The Blackstar CD just arrived yesterday, I was spinning it at 10pmA part of me just went with him. Theres a starman waiting in the skyHe would like to come & meet usBut he thinks he would blow our mindsTheres a starman waiting in the skyHe has told us not to blow itCause he knows it is all worthwhileHe told me:Let the children lose itLet the children use itLet all the children boogie
BubbaVO Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 RIP. Seems like he wrung quite a bit of living from his life. We should all be so lucky.http://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/music/david-bowie-dead-69-n493781
diablo175 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Indeed. Always the innovator, always reinventing himself and in some case, the very landscape of music.Saw him twice in Philly, once at the Spectrum for the Let's Dance Tour and once in the ill-considered Vet Stadium for Glass Spiders with Peter Frampton joining his band for that tour.RIP.
Steve Haynie Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Bowie was never stuck in an era. He was always new every time he did a project.
G Man Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 One of the all time best, a sad day indeed. And just this past Friday, on his 69th birthday, he dropped his most recent album, which is phenomenal, with a jazz quintet of killer musicians and an excellent selection of tunes. I've been enjoying it on Spotify and will now make a point of picking up the hard copy this week. Truly a sad day for rockers.
tbabinec Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 He had a knack for surrounding himself with great musicians including Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Mick Ronson, Stevie Ray Vaughan. The Next Day and Blackstar are both strong works. His music is his legacy.
BlueRedWhite Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 In total shock when i read the news this morningAnother legend gone...RIP Star Man
