Wow!

That flame is OFF THA HOOK! I mean, up against anything I've seen anywhere. Paul Reed Sith just felt a disturbance in the Force.

That finish looks awesome with the bound headstock... and the little curly Q on the S is brilliant.

I couldn't agree more!

All yall lucky MFers... These guitars are beyond badass - I mean damn...

Spoken like a true Southern gentleman: "All y'all.."

When you have legitimate Southern cred, you can follow that lead-in with "MFers" and retain all of the conviction that sentiment implies.

Mike: It is a joy to come home after a long day at the office to peruse the latest pics of the build process. I feel like a kid in a toy store all over again. Thanks for giving us an insider's view.

I'm almost always opposed to matching headstocks (weird, I know), but that is absolutely delicious!

Stunning. That looks beyond any expectations I had (for anyone getting these Ultimates).

The headstock almost looks alive its so rich.

Can't wait for my a Custom Order..

I'm amazed at everything so far.

Every one of those guitars shown is beautiful.

It's not like " yeah these are really nice but this one here's the best".

Each one looks superb in it's own right.

And:

Paul could always apprentice at Shishkov if .........nah....

LOOK AT THAT ^^^^^^^^^

Do you all have any idea what a bargain you got by ordering this first run of Shishkovs ?

I'm sure that Headstock was an added on option and well worth whatever it cost.

Damn, that's not your normal flame option on that headstock . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . its the "Inferno" option.

Ah, The mystery if there would be Inferno options has been revealed!

I need to see the rest of that geetar!

So is that jazz burst? (someone called it that, above). That's the kind of burst I was thinking of for mine, before getting diverted by the sight of the recent naturals.

This is getting silly - it's like "which one do you like best?" "erm, the last one I saw"

Now I'm wondering about matching headstocks. Curses!

Yes! Being a little further down in the list myself, I find it hard to stick to the plan. But blonde, bound and crowned fingerboard and vintage correct headstock are still what I'm planning. I just have this really sick idea for it to be a plain top with a near-perfect grain pattern. I think it would be unique.

Rickenbacker made instruments with perfectly clear maple. No knots or flames in the grain could be found, and the grain was straight. Now that is less common. A truly plain top would have a unique beauty for people who appreciate wood like that. We like to see perfect straight grain spruce tops. However, a maple top that is added to a mahogany or korina slab ought to have a little "character" in it.

Mike is still shoveling snow. Patience, Grasshopper...
