sirDaniel Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I would love circa 70s BRIAN MAY rig ...and maybe RUST era Neil Young's rig for starts...
hamerhead Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Billy Gibbons'........just to see what it really is........
Steve Haynie Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 There are those bands with low stage volume and in-ear monitors. Some bands have Axe-FX units. A tiny amp might be mic'ed while phony stacks are lined up behind the band. In the Premier Guitar rig rundown of AC/DC it was said that Angus hears his amps all across stage, even when he goes down the runway. THAT would be the arena rig to try out.

Hamer_SS_guy Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I'd prefer mine, since I haven't been interested in someone else's rig. I'd love to jam with people using old stuff. Ludwig Octaplus, Fender P-Bass into an SVT and 8x10" cab, Rhodes, Clavinet, Moog, Hammond organ, Mellotron. I myself would love to use my own amps with four 4x12" Mesa Boogie halfback cabs with Celestion C90 and EV12. Someone else also on guitar would be cool too, and then having a jam as if it was the late-60's/early-70's again. But I must admit, I don't think I'd be an arena player. I'd prefer a medium club with full audience
gorch Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Brian May for sure. As simple as it is. A soundcheck with the ol' lady would be priceless. Steve Vai's rig would be great too. Maybe Gilmour. He's got some great sounds on his board to try.
tbonesullivan Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 David Gilmour's rig in the 80s and 90s. And of course Angus and Malcolm Young's rigs back in the late 70s early 80s. Also, who the heck doesn't want to play on Hendrix's woodstock rig? It sounded great.
scottcald Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Man oh man, lots: I'd have to say both Angus' and Malcolm's rigs. Rick Nielsen. Randy Rhoads. Steve Stevens. Tom Scholz and Barry Goudreau in the original Boston period. David Gilmour. Brian May. Ritchie Blackmore from about 1973. Jimmy Page. Tipton/Downing in the mid to late 80s. Michael Schenker. Metallica's Ride the Lightning rigs. Jake E Lee's Ozzy or Badlands setup. The Queensryche Empire rigs. SRV's In Step setup. EVH. George Lynch.
killerteddybear Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Martin Barre, circa Crest of a Knave.
Disturber Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Angus & Malcolm Young, around High Way to hell and Back in Black. Billy Gibbons rig around first three albums. INXS Kick tour live rig Jimi Hendrix Live in Stockholm, Konserthuset 1969, live rig, https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-jimi-hendrix-experience/1969/konserthuset-stockholm-sweden-1bd49920.html J Mascis rig, it's LOUD
sixesandsevens Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 This question was so hard for me to answer I literally decided to get back to work. :-/

You're answer is perfect and I claim it as my own.
tommy p Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Angus or Malcolm Young's. Cranking out their riffs on their gear at concert volume would be righteous, dude!
burningyen Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Gilmour. The Edge. Anyone else would be a distant 3rd.
BubbaVO Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Angus (1979). Scott Gorham (late 70s). Billy Duffy (84-90).

JimHalinda Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I'll be different and say Alex Lifeson, Hemispheres tour 1978. ES-355, Boss CE-1, and a wall of Hiwatts (and then I could see what he was using for a booster at that time, if anything)
velorush Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 This one! And this one, if I could get the whole band to come along: And if I could, just for a minute, it'd be great to plug into this monstrosity and rip out my (pitiful) version of the 2112 Overture:

mathman Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Eddie VH Brian May. Late 70's. Early 80's Rick Neilson. As long as I could use his guitars Bill Nelson from live in the Air Age
