unfun75 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Do those new imports really have one volume, dual tone knobs? If so, why?!

DaveL Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 and another thing... did they simply take a couple pieces of excess old stock and put it on namm display? They look very average... would it have killed you to pick out a couple ringers with nice tops?

Still a very small investment to gauge if there's any interest left among others in the MI world.
FGJ Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I was doing a search and came across this page: http://www.hamerguitars.com/2017/?fa=detail&mid=385 What gives? Is this a joke? How can there be new models? Was the webmaster bored and decided to mess with us? And who is KMC Music? Is that Kaman?
sirDaniel Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Sure… I leave the country and this breaks out. Wow, this thread is like a reunion. So, what if the new people in Washington incentivize bringing great USA manufacturers into the mix again? Wasn't the slogan, A HAMERUSA in every garage.
FGJ Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Oh, so that other thread was already in reference to this? I figured as much. Anyway, enough has been said about that... It'll never be the same company.

Gino Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 This is gonna do more harm to the brand name then just leaving it alone. As I see it, whatever made Hamer USA Hamer USA in the past (vision, the guys who built them, the wood supply) ist gone and won't come back. Look how long it took Gibson to get in touch with their heritage - and they're still working on it. And Gibson could sell every piece of junk as long as the logo is there (we've seen that, haven't we?). Hamer had a hard time selling guitars when they were at their best - who's gonna buy that import stuff? See what you can get from companies like Ibanez, Epiphone and others in that price range - who needs another big name on cheap instruments??
Gino Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I thought Kaman was bought by FMIC - so FMIC is selling Hamer guitars ? If so, they should've done better - a lot better!
gorch Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 All looks like a USA joke. Checking the Frankfurt Musikmesse catalog showed no KMC related entry. However, it is still some time go until April.

serial Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 FMIC sold off many of these companies over the past two-three years, including Hamer.
