specialk Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Extra points for pointiness! Congrats and welcome.
scottcald Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Welcome. Congratulations! That one looks like it's in great shape!
ARM OF HAMER Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 It's a great feeling to have a great guitar.👍
Dave Scepter Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Congrats!.. looks like my old Scarab
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Oooh the old Scarab and a good one! I loved this shape years ago but somehow like Exporers more now! Maybe I got older
Disturber Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 That's some Zodiak Mindwarp right there! Congrats!
Cboss Posted September 14, 2022 Author Posted September 14, 2022 Thanks all, I am so excited.. I love the story and the quality, I wish I would have been smart enough to buy some of these back in the '80s!
tweed Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Wow....Scarab II, now that is a blast from the past. Nice find !
DaveH Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Nice Scarab! I'd love to find an example like that... Congrats!
Travis Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Very cool. Anxious to read the full report when it arrives.
Hamerica Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Congrats on your first USA Hamer. The Scarab is a great choice, I have always liked guitars shaped like objects your mother told you not to run with. USA Hamers are like Lays Potato Chips, no buddy can stop at just one. Look forward to the Tone Report. Best wishes, Hamerica
Cboss Posted September 15, 2022 Author Posted September 15, 2022 Thank you guys so much, I will definitely post a tone/hands on report when it shows up; have fresh strings waiting! I am anticipating being blown away, love the Lay's potato chip analogy, I can tell that that's the way it's going to go! Hopefully I can find a standard for less than 10,000 LOL
Cboss Posted September 15, 2022 Author Posted September 15, 2022 A question on the string clamp, I haven't had one of these before.. are you supposed to get your strings to pitch using the tuners, clamp this down then leave it and make all future pitch adjustments with the fine tuners on the tremelo?

My Kahler has grown on me over the years, I like those now. I keep remembering an ice-pearl Scarab I should have bought about 20-25 years ago. Congrats!

Menehune Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Nice. And welcome to the Club. Might as well open that home equity line of credit now.
