stumbled upon this a couple of hours ago, I think it's a '08 (6 digits, starts with 8), - I've never owned a Hamer newer than the late 90s until now. Pretty much mint other than looking like it has sat untouched for a long time, needs a fret polish pretty badly. Of course I couldn't resist, it wasn't stupid cheap, but attractively priced. I didn't have enough cash on me, so it's on layaway, and I can pick it up tomorrow18 points

I had a small heart attack last Monday that is something of a blessing as it highlighted major problems! My coronary arteries have had it (up to 95% narrowed in 9 places). Hospital kept me in for an angiogram. Angiogram highlighted the problems so I’ve been in hospital since. My surgeon came to see me today and said rather than a triple, he is likely to go with a 4 or 5 new arteries. He said because my heart is so strong I’ll be fine under the knife. It will be a 4-6 hour affair with full chest opening. He is taking replacement arteries/veins from my chest/left arm and if need be, inside thigh. Im not scared but for those of you of faith, I would appreciate your prayers. Victor…13 points

2005 Historic Collection 1956 Les Paul Goldtop Guitar featuring many upgrades. The bridge and tail piece have been replaced with a Faber master kit in aged nickel with locking studs (installed and setup by Paradise Guitars in Beloit, WI). The neck pickup is a 57 Tyson and the bridge pickup is a Zero-Hum Kinman Bright Clean Gen-3 v2 (amazing bridge pickup!). The guitar is in excellent condition showing natural cosmetic wear. This is not a pristine example, but rather a road-worn, loved guitar. No breaks, no repairs. The neck depth at the 1st fret is .926" and 1.027" at the 12th. The guitar weighs in at 8lbs 7.6oz on my scale. The guitar was previously owned by the legendary guitarist Bob Britt; I purchased the R6 from a friend of Bob's. Bob has worked with Leon Russell, Bob Dylan, the Dixie Chicks, and John Fogerty to name a few. His autograph is on the back of the headstock. The case is in very good condition. The LP comes with everything shown in photos. $2800 PP no fees ($2900 PP with fees) plus actual shipping. For detailed, hi-res photos, email me: atomicwash AT yah** dot com6 points

Lightly used Carr Lincoln combo amp in near mint condition. Design based on a 60's Vox AC10. I can't find a blemish on it. No issues. The speaker is a Celestion Neo V-Type. This speaker is a great match for the Lincoln. The amp weighs in at a very reasonable 37lbs. If the Neo speaker is not your thing, I'll take $100 off and ship the amp with no speaker. I replaced the grill cloth in a sharp oxblood with gold pinstripes - Very attractive next to the black tolex. Lot's of great online reviews from Vintage Guitar and Premier Guitar to name a couple. This sale includes the original footswitch and a nice padded Carr cover. $1600 PP no fees ($1650 PP with fees) plus actual shipping. For more photos, email me: atomicwash AT yah** dot com5 points

Have a friend who did this type of surgery three weeks ago. It saved his life. He is alright, and still the same mean sob. Hang in there! 👊4 points

Prayers your way man, for you and your family. So amazing what they can do medically today. And, I think you look better without your glasses! Keep us updated4 points

Just think, after this surgery you will be able to carry heavy amps and cabs to gigs again. Pick up an SVT and 8x10" cab and tell us if you notice a difference.3 points

Yep, saw so many shows there, a few at SF civic center (Kiss with Motley Crue opening etc) and who could forget the awesome Day on the Greens?!!! But, I never saw Journey. But did see a ton of Y&T shows!3 points

Hey All, You may have noticed that the HFC has been experiencing some performance issues lately. I did make a change today to move attachment storage to amazon s3 to help take some of the load and hopefully that's a good first step. As with many things these days, the hosting provider we’ve used for the past decade was sold, and the new owners are placing more restrictive limits on resources. The goal seems to be pushing customers into higher‑tier, and significantly more expensive, plans to maintain performance. On top of that, the cost of our existing service has increased to the point that I briefly considered returning to the 1990s, when I ran the HFC from a server in my basement on a dedicated line. Invision does offer a hosted option, but it comes with a significant annual cost and doesn’t include the base site. Determining the best path forward has been a challenge. Before jumping to any conclusions, this is simply a plea for understanding as I work through the options, not a request for donations to cover the cost increase. I’m trying to keep expenses low to ensure the long‑term future of the HFC. Many members have generously donated in the past and continue to help, and I’m grateful for that support, but right now I’m focused on exploring alternatives. It may even be that, after nearly 30 years, it’s time to move on, or let one of the existing private Facebook groups take over the discussion. That said, I know many of you are knowledgeable and full of great ideas. I’m an IT manager by day, but my teams do most of the magic now. I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on how we might move forward. The HFC is important to me, and I know it is to many of you as well. I’ve known many of you for nearly 30 years, and I’m not giving up, just wanting to be transparent. Let’s work through this together. your friend, Ted Martin2 points

Facebook ain't the HFC. It's harder to check up on old posts. Sometimes, even if you sort the answers to "View all comments" it still feels like I don't see everything in the threads there. There are sale ads mixed with photo posts. And there are far less interesting discussions about "whatever" random thing. (And, there is no Outer Circle). It's just not the same. This place is like a sewing circle for old grumpy guitarists that think that anything posted in the For Sale section priced over 350$ is an insult to humanity. Where else on this planet we call earth can you find such a forum? Nowhere.2 points

I appreciate you and all you do for this site. HFC is my morning go-to, I'd be lost without it. I've learned all things Hamer here and lots about a lot of other subjects and people. The Fcaebook group is ok but all the true experts are here.2 points

I wish you all the best for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. My neighbor several homes removed from me here in my neighborhood had this surgery your speaking of 12 months ago, since then he says he feels like a new man. More energy, more drive to want to get up and do things and get them done, and a new joy about living life in general. I hope all this is true for you. Take Care.2 points

Nice!.. That sounds like a great road trip... I grew up in Daly City, right down the street from the Cow Palace... at the time, the Bay Area was such a cool place to live with an epic music scene... I was so fortunate to be able to see TONS of concerts!.. great memories~ wishing you and your wife a very fun and safe road trip 😃2 points
-
Journey was a big part of my high school days. We were 2 hours south of the Bay area. I would often come home after school, put on my Koss headphones through a Marantz receiver and listen to that whole album! My wife and I are heading on a 5 week cross country road trip to see Journey in Sacramento, CA and visit friends and family along the way. Will see Tommy Emmanuel 2 nights after that.2 points

Sounds to me like AI-enabled scamming. Instead of uploading your scam listings one by one, put an AI assistant in charge and let it sling them out. The video guy makes an attempt at pointing out red flags, which are no doubt useful today and may continue to be, but in a spy-vs-spy environment the scammers will find out what gives them away and change it. It will always be a buyer beware world.2 points

The world would be very different without the HFC. I'd pay a subscription fee to help keep the site going. Thank you for putting in the time, effort and expense to keep the site going.2 points

Thanks for all you do to keep us entangled, Ted. Don't be shy about soliciting resources. And for God's sake don't even contemplate a move to Facebook.2 points
-
Thank you, Ted. The HFC isn't just important to me. The HFC changed my life. I have made several friendships here, the kind that I know I will have for the rest of my life. I would have never met these guys had there no HFC. I can't imagine there being no HFC, or worse, it moving to Facebook.2 points

Prayers, absolutely prayers. Follow the recovery regimen and you'll be back to operations and you'll feel much better. My dad went through this years ago and just celebrated his 87th birthday. He was amazed at how much better he operated with open arteries!1 point

Good grief. It's perfect and perfectly priced. For those reasons juxtaposed the miniscule balance in my Guitar Account, I'll have to avoid this thread... I hope it sells very, very quickly!1 point

Prayers and good vibes sent your way! My sister had the same thing done last year, quadruple bypass. Discovered in the same way. She had a heart event and they found the blockages afterward. She has recovered well and I wish the same for you. Good luck!1 point
